[0:35] Introduction: The Tarot Archetype The Emperor and its Symbolism
Aloha everyone, this is Dr. BethAnne Kapansky Wright, welcome to your heart magic. Today we are continuing our archetypes of the Tarot series. And we are talking about the card the Emperor and exploring what is the Emperor all about?
What can we learn from this archetype? And how can we apply the qualities of the Emperor to our own lives and perhaps develop a gauge that helps us see where we already are the Emperor's and our own lives.
And I call this episode Entrusting The Emperor because ultimately, when we entrust the Emperor and going to say when we entrust our inner emperor, we are interesting the aspect of ourselves that helps us bring order to things that helps us bring structure to things. And that helps us build a strong foundation to grow from and to push off of, until leap from and our lives.
So the emperor is a masculine card and the Tarot deck it is card number four, four is a number that represents stability, it represents four corners to build a foundation upon it is a card that is a passive number four is a passive number. And it often represent some form of assurance, comfort, again, stability, the shadow side of four might be stagnancy, or feeling kind of stuck.
But the light side of number four is also about having a sense of security. And again, that sense of stabilization, and having something firm underneath you. And when we explore the archetypes and talk about whether it's an archetype of the Tarot, or we're talking about numerology and talking about numbers, anytime that we're looking at symbolism behind something.
And the idea of what does this collective of information mean about this one archetype or this animal guide, or this number, or whatever it is, that holds this richness of symbolism to it.
[2:58] Balancing the Emperor for Personal Growth and Empowerment
When we are looking at that, I think it's always important to remember that everything has a shadow side, and everything has a light side. And a better way to perhaps put that is when we're in balance with certain archetypes in our life, we are able to take the best of them, we grow from what they have to offer us and what they have to teach us.
And we're able to use them in a way that helps us to move about the world. And with a little bit more wisdom, a little bit more insight, and accessing the best of who we are and feeling inspired to take that archetype and follow its lead and enact those energies and our life.
When we are not in balance with something when we are in the shadows of something and we haven't worked through some of our issues or wounds or whatever takes us to a place of unconsciousness and and a shadow place about something, then we are not equipped to access the best of an archetype, the best of ourselves.
And so a lot of times we might be acting from more of a wounded space. So the Emperor for example, a healed emperor that is in balance is somebody who is stable, who knows how to impose compassionate order in their life.
I often think of the emperor as a chief or I guess the chief stress a chieftain of a clan, and the chief of the clan. The idea behind that is to make decisions that really benefit the health of everybody involved, the health of the people that you're leading.
And so when we make decisions that benefit the best of everybody involved and we are being good emperors in our life, we are making good decisions that take into account who we are all aspects of ourself maybe they take into account at Are people in our life and who our choices might impact and the ripple effects that we might have.
And when the emperor is not in balance, that is when we often see more of what we might call toxic masculine energies that are about tyranny, or dictatorship or being structured to a point of rigidity.
And there is no room for growth, there is no room for flexibility, there's no room for progress, there's no room for change. A emperor in the shadow side might be somebody who imposes their rule above all, for the love of power.
An emperor who is balanced and has really integrated both the light qualities and the shadow qualities of this card of this archetype understands that true power is a reflection of love, it is a reflection of our hearts. And we use our power in a way that upholds the principles of love in this world.
So these are two very different models. And I want to focus on the, we'll say the healed integrated Emperor archetype today, I think it's really easy to look around the world right now and to look at our history, and we could probably find multiple examples of unhealed Emperor sometimes literally, if you look at men in power, historically, you know, way back through history who shouldn't have been in power.
So it's really easy to see people and see the abuse of power, see the misuse of power, we still see so much of that go on in the world around us. But I want to focus on today, how can we take the best of the Emperor archetype and use it to understand our own journeys and to feel empowered to live from the power of love in our lives. So that's our focus of this podcast.
[7:05] Life Path Numbers and My Experience with the Emperor
And a funny little story about the emperor is, like years ago, I was in this taro group. And we never made it through the whole Major Arcana. But it was a group that met for maybe a couple of months.
And every week, we were doing one of the archetypes starting with the fool, I think we might have made it up to the Hierophant or the lovers or something like that. And it was just too hard to get everybody on the same page and to meet at the same time, we couldn't find a meeting place. And so the group kind of dispersed. But I remember that we at least made it through the Emperor.
And I think that was the first time that I was introduced to the concept of numerology and your Birth Number. And really looking at like, what number if you add up the day that you're born on the month that you're born in the year that you're born, and you add it all up? Like, what does that come out to?
And there was this a sort of symbolism of like, what Tarot number is that for you, and for me, when I add all of them up, it equals four, and it was the emperor. And I was so disappointed that used to be one of my least favorite cards in the deck.
A lot of times if I got it in a drawing, and I was trying to do a reading for something, it a lot of times it was on if I was, you know, maybe I was working through relationship issues at the time.
And these were definitely my years of dating and kind of learning to be single again and date in my early 30s after my divorce. And so sometimes I would get the Emperor to represent essentially Emperor upside down, like a toxic male in my life or, or somebody who was being really rigid or something like that.
So I didn't have good connotations of the card. So I wasn't excited when I was like, Oh my gosh, I'm a four. I'm the Emperor. You know, I like the magician better I like the Empress give me the lovers, the chariot, I can definitely identify with that. It was kind of like any card but card of her bore.
And I thought it sounded really boring. You know, the Emperor stands for order and structure and grounding and a strong foundation. And at that time in my life, I didn't quite see the value in those things the way that I do now, and maybe a better way to put that is I already had an overdeveloped, overdeveloped foundation in my life because of my private practice.
And I was really kind of anchored into my role as a psychologist. And I was starting to feel restless in a very intuitive creative sense. And I was really wanting to break free and somehow expand my creativity more expand my intuitive side. All of this was back in 2014 2015.
And so it was right before I was about to go through this huge awakening of intuitive gifts. It was a couple of years from making this big decision to move from Alaska to kawaii and going through this process of reinvention.
So I think I was just starting to feel the soul stirrings at that point in my life, where I knew there was something more than what I'd already discovered. So the Emperor felt really boring to me. And it felt a little bit patriarchal.
I think politically at the time, some of the stuff I was seeing in the United States of America, I was looking around at these examples of will say him first. And I was like, I'm nothing, I don't want anything to do with any of that, you know, and I kind of really struggled to find healthy Emperor archetypes, at least in male form, if you want to take it in a very traditional gender sense that I could identify with.
So I was pretty unhappy about it. And I was thrilled, several years later, I want to say this is like 2017 2018 now, and I was listening to some spiritual podcast, and there was somebody on there whose specialty was numerology. And they taught me that the number 22 is also a number that my birth years add up to.
And that is what boils down into the four to get the Emperor. But I learned that there's something called the 22. And there's kind of these master numbers of 1122, and 20, or 33. And 22 means the master builder.
And I was really excited to figure that out, because I thought, Oh, 22 sounds so much better than for 22, the master builder that sounds like more special and more magical somehow. But really the master builder 22, boils down to four, it is the Emperor.
[11:42] Using the Emperor Archetype for Manifestation and Stability
And the best of the Emperor teaches us how to be master builders and our life and how to build something in our lives. That offers us a sense of having a legacy of light, that gives us a sense of creating healthy containers, so that we can move about the world in a way that we feel like we are able to bring our light out into the world and share it with others. And it helps us become a builder where we build a firm enough foundation that we have something to anchor into.
So when life goes sideways, which it often does, and chaos happens, and disorder happens, and things start spinning around us, we have a space to come in inside of ourselves and ground so that we can still have a sense of security and stability.
So on a very mundane level, the Emperor might be about materialism in the material world, and what do we build in the material world. But on a much more energetic level, I think the Emperor also represents creating a sense of stability in the immaterial world and in our inner world, and finding a firm foundation inside of us through our relationship with spirit and our hearts, and learning to belong to ourselves so that we have something to anchor into.
So I think it's been maybe not quite a decade, probably eight years since I first did that Taro like little taro group. That was it was really fun. That lasted for a couple months. And I had this negative and for connotation.
And, you know, eight years later, I've really reinvented my relationship with the Emperor. And it's quite fun to talk about this archetype today and share the Emperor and talk about how can we bring the magic of the Emperor into our own lives.
So with that, I just want to share a few ideas for how we can do that. So the first one is, is that the Emperor really helps us figure out how to bring things into form. And oftentimes we have goals, we have hopes, we have dreams, we have changes that we'd like to see on our own life.
And all of that starts at a usually an immaterial level, it starts in our mind. It starts with an idea. It starts with a spark in our heart. It starts with a flash of inspiration, where we think, Oh, wow, I'd really like to do that. Or we see somebody else doing something.
And we feel really inspired and think I'd really like to create that or that's so cool that they went out and did this thing. And gosh, that really inspires me to want to bring more of that energy into my own life. Before we're able to do that it has to start somehow inside of us where we get some sort of an idea.
And when we are looking at taking our light and bringing it out into the world and sharing our light with others. For many of us, that might mean creating something through through our offerings, through our relationships, through our acts of service, through our life path that offers our light to the world somehow.
And the Emperor helps us figure out how do we bring that into form. It's interesting. Oftentimes, when I do intuitive readings, and I'm doing Akashic work for somebody, or maybe spiritual coaching, is something that's very common theme that I've seen with many Lightworkers is all these beautiful ideas for things that they feel they'd like to do.
And that might be write a book, it might be teaching a women's circle, it might be taking something that they went through a healing journey on, and now they feel empowered. And they would like to somehow teach that to others, or mentor others, or share their gifts or talents in some form.
And so oftentimes, it's not uncommon for somebody to ask, I've been thinking about this for a long time, but I have all these self doubts. And you know, can you tell me does my Akashic Record say like, am I meant to do this? And it's almost always 100%. Yes.
Usually, if something is already in our hearts, and it's in our minds, and it excites us, and it lights us up, right there, our heart is normally telling us like that's a yes, that we might not know the exact shape or form of it. But we're meant to bring it out into the world in some shape, or form.
And oftentimes, the Emperor helps us figure out what is that form going to be? And that's where a lot of people get stuck. At least that's where a lot of times I might intersect with somebody's path where they say, Okay, thank you for that.
Because I'll be like, yes. Your Akashic records say that's like a big yes for you. You know, and oftentimes, when the person says it, not only am I hearing a giant, yes, in my mind, but I might get like this, these tingles in my heart are filled angels that my back or some of the other energetic cues, that will often tell me like, yes, yes, yes, this is a big yes, for this person.
And there's a lot of support there. And oftentimes, they'll say, okay, good. I mean, I felt like it was something I was supposed to do. But it's really good to have validation. And then the next question is, how am I supposed to do it.
[17:28] Using The Emperor to Get Unstuck When Manifesting Goals
And that is, like I was saying, a lot of times, this is where people get stuck. Because taking something that is an idea in our mind, and actually grounding it and bringing it into form in a way that feels structured, and in a way that feels organized is easier than it can actually feel when you're the one doing it.
And a lot of times people will get really stuck on the how of do I do this, they'll get really stuck on wanting to know the exact steps. You know, like if the guidance from the records might be like, yes, you're meant to write a book, and they say, Okay, well, what am I supposed to write about? I have all these ideas. You know, somebody's records might say, well, you're meant to write about your life story.
And you're meant to, you know, share this knowledge that you have about whatever it is, you know, maybe they traveled somewhere, and they lived overseas for a long time. And they have all these stories or something like that, and they'd like to share those. And so sometimes it will be well, how am I supposed to do that? Like, what exactly is the story.
And this is kind of tricky, because what I've often found is that Akashic records, especially if it hasn't been written yet, are not going to give you a step by step instruction, they're not going to write the book for you, the person, you know, they're not going to give a step by step instruction that says--
You know, start with Chapter One should be your childhood, chapter two should be this chapter three, like they're not going to outline it for you, you know, and so their records might say, for somebody in this, like, fake example that I'm coming up with, you know, start with the parts that are most meaningful to you.
And maybe the records will give some guidance and the guidance might be, make a list. And on that list, just do a free flow thought of everything that you think would be kind of fun to put in that book. When you think of a fun story about your time living overseas.
You know, just make a list of all the things that you learned, and don't judge right now at the beginning whether or not that's all gonna go in your book, just make a list and just do a kind of brain brainstorm. Mind dump where you put out on this list everything that you think would be interesting. And then maybe the record should say and take a step back after that and look at and start to see are there themes here?
Are there collections of things that might often fall under the same chapter And they might give the guidance to take that and organize it and make a rough outline. And it wouldn't be unlike the records to say, and start with one of those points. And you know, just start writing, see what's there. And there would be kind of this loose guidance for how to go about bringing this book into form.
And that is what the emperor is so good at helping us figure out how to how to do it is how do we bring something into form, so that we actually take it from an idea space to something that we are in an acting and that we are able to do? Now if the person said, Okay, that's amazing, I think I'm gonna go write this book.
And they, let's say, they really liked that guidance, it resonated for them. And they followed it, they actually took the time to go, and they made their long list. And then they, you know, took a few days off, they came back to the list, they looked at all the bullet points, and they said, Oh, okay, I see, you know, four or five different themes here in chapters, or sections, you know, and so they maybe do some rearranging or something like that. And maybe from all of that, they actually come up with a loose outline.
And then they might say, All right, well, this book isn't gonna write itself. So I'm going to designate Saturdays as my day, where from two o'clock to six o'clock, you know, I'm gonna go to my home office, or maybe I'm gonna go to the library, or maybe they pick a writing space.
And they say, and I'm going to work on the book, and no matter what comes through during that time, I'm just going to stay with it, because I'm really busy. And so if I just leave it up to when I feel inspired, I'm probably not going to do it.
So I'm actually going to designate a time to write. There are some writers who do this. And some of them find it very helpful if they don't have a designated writing time and have a really busy schedule.
And they might find, after a few months of doing that, and applying themselves that a book has taken shape, they might be done with the book, they might have a pretty good draft, they might at least have something to work with, where they say, Okay, I don't love what I've come up with. But at least it's something now.
And I can start editing and rearranging and seeing like, what do I need to spice this up? And maybe I'll even take it and ask a friend who's a writer and say, Hey, would you mind looking over this, I'm happy to pay you for it or buy you a dinner or compensate you and somehow because they're a considerate writer, who knows unless the person says, Yes, I have lots of time on my hands, I'd love to look at this. It's always nice to offer somebody, unless they've already offered to do it for free some form of compensation for their time.
This is just a note, as somebody who's often been asked to read or look at edits, or all this advice from people. And I think I think there's people that you can pay to have do this for you. You know, it's just a nice thing as a creative unless it's your good friends. And you say, hey, I'll eyeball your work, no problem, to just always be considerate of the other person's time and energy.
Anyways, they're considerate friend, and they say, thank you so much for reading my manuscript. You know, go buy yourself some coffee, here you go. And the person comes back and gives them some ideas. And it allows them to say, oh, okay, thanks, that was really helpful. And before they know it, they actually finished the book, and now get to figure out the publishing part of things.
[23:40] The Emperor Helps Us Structure our Creativity into Greater Self-Expression
That's the Emperor right there. Do you hear the process of taking something from an idea and putting it into form. And I found that many of us struggle to do that. We struggle to ground something, we struggle to find the right steps.
Sometimes people get really, really caught up on is this idea good enough, or they get caught up on a step where they're waiting for like these big flashing lights and the perfect inspiration to come through. And sometimes guidance from Spirit is like the inspirations right there.
But you have to take a step in the direction of this, it's not going to write itself, it's not going to just magically kind of come out of you, at least usually not unless it's very, very inspired. It's not going to all line up without any effort on the behalf of the individual wanting to create it.
And so the Emperor knows how to roll up their sleeves and get to work on something and really bring a compassionate good ordering to the process in order to actually move it into form. And so something else that I think the Emperor does is The Emperor teaches us the value of order.
And the teacher, the teacher, the Emperor teaches us the value of imposing a structure onto something, which can be hard and can be hard period. Some people really like order, like rules work for them, lots of structure and boundaries work for them to tell me what to do. And I'm going to follow this step by step, and I'm going to do it.
Other people don't like order at all. And it feels really restrictive, really confining. It feels like they can't breathe, and they just want the freedom to not have to worry about ordering it or not feeling fenced in neither way is right or wrong. They're just different ways of being. And again, when we talk about shadow side, light side, or just being imbalanced versus not being unbalanced, there's something to be said,
For all this creativity that's not necessarily imposed into form, it's this very Empress abundance energy of just letting creativity and inspiration flow. And there's something to be said for structure and building a container to create within, so that it can be brought out into form, it's not better than worse than they're just different qualities and aspects of self.
And the Emperor helps us figure out though, that without some form of an order, then we just have all this gorgeous inspiration, intuitive energy flying about. And sometimes it can be really chaotic.
And if somebody has been saying, I've been thinking of writing a book for like the last 15 years, but I just don't know what to write about. And I just can't bring myself to do it, they might benefit from a little bit more Emperor energy in their life and might benefit from the wisdom of okay, we'll just start with where you're at, quit worrying if it's the perfect thing. And feeling like it has to be this masterpiece, just like start with where you're at.
I remember when I put my first book out, it was a collection of poetry. I had been, I've been wanting to write a book for like maybe about five years or something like that. And I was thinking about it. And I was that person who had all this expectation that somehow I had to write something and like out of the gate, it had to be, I guess, this amazing masterpiece or something like that. I'm kind of laughing at myself, as I say that.
That was a while ago. And there's been a lot of growth since then. But what was happening is I mean, I wouldn't even get going, I was just writing poetry and I shouldn't say just I was writing poetry. But I was not sitting down yet. And writing like chapter one, chapter two, and structuring my writing in a way that was much more structured.
And what I found with my first book is I eventually put together a collection of poems, Freebird Fridays, a love story was my first poetry book. And that was really how I grounded my writing and started to bring things together into a collection is I just did a poetry collection. And that felt so much better than trying to impose a chapter by chapter book upon myself, I still have not written anything like that.
All my books so far had been a collection of works and how maybe it's been poetry. My grief books have been a collection of personal essays, prose pieces, little poems, and they tell a chronological story, but it's put together more in this kind of artistic collage form. That has worked for me really well, as I evolved my writing, we'll see what continues to happen. But I found that I needed to figure out a way to impose order, but also work with what I already had.
So if you are struggling with your creativity, and you feel like you're ready to take it to the next level, or like you're wanting to do something with it, but you feel like your work right now isn't good enough. My encouragement is maybe to think a little bit outside of the box and think about how can I put good order? How can I put compassionate order and give some structure?
So what I actually already have, maybe there's more value there than what I'm giving myself credit for. And maybe I can put that into some sort of form. And what I can tell you is that Freebird Fridays, it's not a masterpiece. It's a great book. I think there's a lot of wisdom in the poems.
There's a lot of like little juicy quotes and one liners and things like that. It's the kind of book that if somebody bought it and had it on their night table or had it next to their morning meditation stuff, and just stunned through it and just kind of opened up to a poem and uses a reflection point or a writing prompt, or just something that kind of stirred sparked the light in them, I'm sure somebody else would get a lot out of it.
But it wasn't a book that went on to win poetry awards or anything like that. But it has tremendous value to me not just because it's the first book that I wrote. But because I needed that stepping stone in order to gain confidence and to go on and publish my next book.
And so when we're talking about the value of structure and the value of order in our lives, oftentimes we need to bring something into order or structure. Because if we can't create that first ordered step, we're not going to figure out how to get to the next step. And then the step after that, and then the step after that.
[30:42] The Emperor's Role in Helping Us Ground
So the Emperor helps us do that, and helps us say, How can I take where I am right now, and figure out a concrete way to organize this and to create some sort of a foundation, the emperor is really a very grounded card.
It is about learning to take inspiration in our life and take our like juicy, intuitive, magical, spiritual, amazingness and grounded, and have a way to anchor that energy and have something to build upon, I often find it helpful to have some form of a focal point, whether that is a mantra that I'm working with each month, whether that is my morning, journaling, practice, and being able to write down things in my journal.
Whether that is a loving kindness meditation, or something that maybe I'll be working on and my intentions, I find it helpful to have a focal point and my spiritual journey, because a focal point gives me a way to focus my energies. And because spirituality is so uncontained, you know, spirituality is really about the ethereal, it's not, it's about the celestial, right, not so much about the earthly and the material terrestrial realm.
When we open to our spirituality, we are really opening to these having more of a transpersonal relationship with the world around us. And having a relationship with the universe with nature, with spirit, with love.
When we open to our spirituality, we are opening our minds and opening our hearts and we are inviting the intangible, to come into ourselves. And then we take that and we work within our tangible reality.
And oftentimes, in spirituality, it's really easy to get ungrounded. And sometimes you'll see people who are perhaps very spiritual, and somebody who is maybe not necessarily walking that path, they're not anti spiritual, they're just not into it, you know, they would never pick up a deck of tarot cards, they see no use for it. But they're not anti any of those things. It's just not for them.
And so they might try and have a conversation with somebody who is really pursuing all these medical, metaphysical things, and they might find them so out there and say, Wow, that person feels really ungrounded I don't even know what they were talking about. I feel like we're like not even talking about the same thing.
You know, sometimes we see that where somebody is just not grounded at all. And they become like, so wrapped up in these ethereal in material matters, that it's hard for them to anchor it and bring it into bring that wisdom into their life in a way that feels really applied. Or in a way that feels really concrete.
Sometimes I'll see this in the wellness industry, or kind of in the field where there's sort of the perpetual seeker and somebody who's always looking for whether it's the perfect solution, or the fix, or the practitioner, or, you know, the psychic message, or whatever it is, you know, kind of that magic bullet, that magic key. And if they could just find it, everything's gonna fall in line, and it's all gonna make sense.
And it's not fun, ever find it's really unglamorous to say, well, maybe there's no magic here, magic bullet and the answers and taking what's already in your life and just taking full responsibility for it. And really trying to figure out how do you start to create and change and heal from exactly where you're at?
You know, that's not a message that people want to hear. It's not why they pay big sums of money to go to a retreat for the weekend that promises them like a spear. Virtual glow up and to up level their experience.
Or maybe they pay a ton of money to weekend workshop is going to teach them how to manifest a million dollars. And I'm not saying that some of those things aren't worth it. There's a lot of people out there with a lot of beautiful skills and talents that are bringing their light into the world.
And that's how they feel called to do it. I'm just saying that in my personal path, and in my observation, as somebody who is a psychologist and works with spirit as well, and a spiritual coach, and spiritual educator, that is much as we want those heightened experiences, our growth is really found in the day to day nitty gritty of just figuring out well, how do I ground this and apply it to my life right now.
And even though magical things can happen, and miraculous things can happen. A lot of non magical things and non miraculous things happen in our lives as well. And we are left to kind of grapple with them and figure out well, how do I manifest something beautiful out of the muddy ingredients in my life right now.
[36:05] The Value of Grounded Spirituality and Becoming Leaders in Our Lives
So I think the Emperor teaches us to come down to a very grounded space of reality. And just look at our current energies and qualities and life's and what we have to work with, and figure out how can I build the most secure foundation out of what I have right now. And if there are pieces and my foundation that aren't secure, maybe I'm not in right relationship with myself, and I know that I'm struggling with something, I need some healing.
And so or maybe I know that there's some stuff going on in one of my primary relationships, and it's really destabilizing me. Or maybe there's something that's really out of balance in money matters, or career matters.
The Emperor potentially helps us say, what is an intelligent step that I could take to start addressing this, the Emperor will encourage us not to hide from it, not to think it will magically fix itself, the Emperor will encourage us to take mature responsible accountability and say, kind of what's mine? What's theirs?
And what can I do with what's mine? How can I work with that? How can I work on shifting that changing that shoring that up? How can I change myself in this matter, to help my foundation feel more secure and more stable.
So the emperor is an inspiration to be a leader, not only to each other, and in the communities that we're in. But the Emperor encourages us and inspires us to be good leaders in our lives, and to be good leaders of ourselves, and to be good mothers and fathers and caretakers of ourselves, the emperor, even though that is a masculine card, and in traditional tarot, it's depicted by a male, I think that learning to be a good mother to ourselves and a good father to ourselves, good caretakers to ourselves is something that is part of wellness and wholeness as a human being.
And one of the healing aspects of the emperor is I think that many of us if we wrote down, like, Who have we seen as leaders in our life, this is kind of an interesting exercise to do. And leaders could be and we'll say, we'll go with males right now, or those who would identify as a male, you know, what have you seen of male leadership in your life, and just write it down.
And there might be individuals on that list that feel really good, there might not be, there might be a lot of woundedness. There, there might be some real upstanding characters that you feel really inspired by. And I think that one of the things that we're healing with each of these archetypes is to look at if we don't have good representation of that, then how can we learn? Well, what does a good leader look like? What does good male energy look like? What does the divine masculine and a healed way look like?
And if I don't see that in anybody around me, can I find that in literature? Can I find that in the spiritual path? Can I find that in a spiritual teacher who inspires me? How can I find that in myself? How can I learn to bring healed masculinity into myself regardless of what gender you are, how you identify, healed masculine energy and heal divine feminine energy is not about what sex we are.
It's not about our gender identity. It is about every single one of us has both of those energies inside of ourselves. And as we work on our healing journey, and our wholeness as a human being, we can potentially start to bring those into union inside of ourselves as we heal those energies. And the only way to heal those energies is to really look at what were we taught about the different energies in the first place?
What do we learn in our family systems? What did we learn in the world around us? What did we learn that taught us this is what being a good male is? Or a good father figure or a good king or good emperor? What did we learn about this is what a good mother is, this is what a good creative trick says, This is what a good queen is. And what did we learn about the negative of that? And what makes somebody a bad whatever it is.
[40:45] Healing The Emperor Archetype
There's a reason years ago that when I figured out that my birthday and birth year and all that added up to a four and I was not a bit ecstatic about that, there's a reason that I did not look at the Emperor and say, oh, cool, how fun that this is a number that is following me throughout my life path.
You know, four is my life path number. According to numerology. You know, there's a reason that that was not exciting to me. And I was like, Well, why couldn't I be like a one or a three or something else, I thought the other numbers were better, you know, anything, but for it probably was like my least favorite one. There's a reason for that. And the reason for that is my experiences historically with what I had experienced in my own life, around masculine energy and around Emperor energy.
And there's a reason that I can come back to it now and say, That's a great number, I've really come to value, good, compassionate order in my life, I've come to value creating a strong, secure foundation, I have come to value that solid base that I am trying to build things upon for myself, so I can shine my light in the world the best, I know how those things have become highly meaningful to me.
And again, highly valuable, because I've done a lot of work on healing not only the Emperor archetype, but doing healing work around my inner masculine energy and my ideas around not.
So the Emperor if we have a negative reaction to that card, or to any card and the Tarot deck, is also an invitation to say, well, what is that about for you? And if you've seen the shadow side of this in somebody or something, or situations and events around you, how can you choose to grow the light side?
How can you say, Oh, hello, area that needs healing? How can I invite healing into this part of me in order to heal and clear this archetype?
[43:00] Coming Up Next Week
So that feels like a really lovely resting place for today, actually, to just kind of wrap up this podcast, and kind of leave everybody with the idea that when we are being good emperors and our life.
We are figuring out how can I be leader of myself in my life that takes into account which the most compassionate for all involved, whether that is for all aspects of ourselves, whether that is for the individuals and our life, whether that is for the communities that we're working in, and it's not about when we talk about being a good leader for all involved.
It's not about pleasing every aspect of ourselves, or pleasing everybody around us. It's just about considering what's the best choice that I know to make the best stability that I know that I can bring to the circumstance, what is the best form that I can bring to this in this time, in order to bring a sense of truly trying to use my power in a way that furthers the cause of love. And when we're able to do that, we become the Emperor's in our life.
All right. With that, we are going to wrap up this episode for this week. Next week, we are going to be talking about Akashic Records Energy Update.
So next week, we are moving into almost October and beyond. And I thought it would be really fun just to kind of look at what do the Akashic records have to say about the last quarter of 2023 and just going through some information on the current energies according to the records, some of the themes that we might be seeing, showing up in our life some of the things that we might be working with what the Akashic records have have to say for the month of October, and what the energy is and anything else that the records want us to know.
So it's going to be an Akashic centric episode and I look forward to bringing in the information for that. In the meantime, have an amazing week.
And until next time, be well be love, be you and be magic
