[0:13] Embracing unique light, talents, and self-love.
Music, Aloha and welcome to Your Heart magic, an illuminating space where psychology, spirituality and heart wisdom. Meet. Here's your host, Dr bethanne kapansky Wright, the clinical psychologist with a mystic mind.
Aloha, everyone. Welcome to Your Heart magic. This is Dr bethanne kapansky Wright, and today, we are doing the last installment and our August series called Small pearls. And as I've shared in previous weeks, I chose to shake things up a little bit on the podcast for the month of August, I wanted to share some new reflections and writings that are going to be coming out in my upcoming book, small pearls, big wisdom, 365, reflections and the heart of being human.
And I wanted to lean into doing episodes that were a little bit shorter. Thus the August mini series play on words and honor my own busy season in life where I'm juggling multiple things, from this book to a couple choreography projects to all sorts of things going on with my work and an upcoming marathon over the weekend. So there's been plenty going on, but I still wanted to be able to share something fresh and new with you for August.
So thus the evolution of our many series, which has been so fun to do and Today's reflection is called the art that is you, and it's really about your unique light, your unique magic, and allowing for your process of self. That's really what it's all about for each of us is being able to come into our hearts and come into a relationship of trusting ourselves and trusting our journey and trusting our unfolding process.
That's what this podcast is all about, and that principle and philosophy underscores everything that I do in my work, which is really about self love and self compassion and self grace, but also embracing the gifts and the talents that we each have as individuals, and really seeing our unique existence as a gift, that our lives are a gift, our light is A gift.
We have so much to offer this world, from our energy to how we are healing ourselves and how that might impact the collective energy, to any overt gifts and talents that we use to serve others or to create or to support, to the quiet ways of being, the fierce gentleness that many of us have where we are growing our hearts and doing the good work of healing wounds and coming into that inner space and clearing old karma and cutting cords and, you know, healing the psychological landscape of ourselves, All those things, all of that is this gorgeous, evolving palette of art that is you. So with that, let's dive into today's reflection the art that is you.
[3:31] Self-love, self-compassion, and embracing unique gifts and talents.
You are one of a kind, your authenticity, your unique way of being in the world, your alchemy, which brews and potions, an elixir of real and goodness, is only you can. It is invaluable the essence you bring. So don't distrust yourself or discredit your dreams and the visions in your heart. Please don't dismiss the new pieces of you that you are slowly gathering, even if you don't entirely understand them, good things take time to come together, including the good things within you,
You are allowed to collect sort figure yourself out as you go and keep reinventing yourself. This world needs the art that is you and the beauty you bring that is unique to your being. This is your essence and your soul. Keep asking the questions, what meaning can I create with my life? What meaning does life have to teach me? The meaning we make gives our lives subtext and context and directs our path, helping us stay connected to our true north.
So adventure on. Don't overthink it. Be imperfect, be messy and glorious. Allow for new ways of doing things and new truths. Be original. Stay curious. Try out new colors. Try new ways of being. See yourself. As an evolving art. Let the process of creativity both inform and form you paint your life and your world into being with each unique experience, and pay attention to the colors that life brings to the equation as well. Remember, it's about reciprocity.
We are in a creative relationship with the sentient universe around us, our thoughts, wishes, hopes, dreams, actions, intents, goals and the unique art we each have to offer the world means something and shape our path when those desires intersect with what the world offers to shape us and teach us what we are here to learn on our journey, we find life's sweet spot where creativity, Destiny and discovery meet.
[5:50] Creativity, self-discovery, and meaning-making through journaling, poetry, and meditation.
I know that you don't have that passage in front of you. If you did, I would say, take it and use it as a journaling prompt. There's so many good little one liners in there, I think that are invitation to explore, like, what new ways of being Am I trying out right now? What is life presenting me with, and how am I working with it? One of my favorite parts of this particular reflection is this, this line right here. It says, Keep asking the questions, what meaning can I create with my life? What meaning does life have to teach me?
And I've often thought that if we want to experience everyday miracles, and if we want to find the sacred and the extraordinary within what can often feel like our ordinary, daily reality, that we really have to find ways to create meaning that bring flavor and richness and a deeper context to our understanding and our relationship with ourselves in the world.
And that is why I am so pro anything self discovery, like writing poetry, meditating in nature, doing journaling prompts, workbooks and anything fun art projects, like anything that allows us to expand and tap into our intuition and our spirituality and our creativity and get in touch with our hearts and our inner voice, and really look at how can I make meaning and purpose and intention in my life? It is bringing that sincerity of heart to the process of living that I think can take what might be the every day, or take something in our life that looks like gritty circumstances, and kind of dust it off and find something beautiful in it, or finds the glitter and the grit.
[7:46] Expanding perspective and finding meaning in everyday experiences.
And so I'm a big advocate of that. And I think the whole idea behind this piece, the art that is you, is this exhortation that ultimately, like you are the art and everything happening in your life, everything happening within you, everything happening around you, is a potential artistic tool or medium or color or inspiration that you can use to create something.
And so we can live in this way, where we see ourselves as these gorgeous artists who are always asking the question, What am I creating today? And what can I create from this? And what can I be grateful for? What new things did I learn today? What meaning does this hold for me? What new colors Am I trying on right now? How am I subtly shifting or maybe radically shifting? What colors within me have held the same, and they those things seem to be unchanging.
I keep coming back to them. There are so many things that we can do when we allow ourselves to expand our construct for how we see ourselves and how we see our lives, and we can live with more creativity and more inspiration and more meaning.
And when we do that, it takes again what could be something ordinary, and it somehow brings the sacredness to it, and it allows us to see it through a lens of appreciation or gratitude or growth, something where we take an experience that could be one dimensional if we're not paying attention, and all of a sudden we pay attention, and we bring color and shade and tone and resonance to it, and then we open up our hearts and pay attention to life and spirit and how nature might be speaking to us and what messages our hearts might have. And that brings in this whole other unspoken language of signs and symbols and synchronicities and intuition and all of that good, juicy stuff.
And I love the idea of bringing these elements into our day to day, and just taking all of this and making it your own in whatever way resonates with you, so that we feel. Feel like we're walking around authentic and inspired. So with that, thank you so much for joining me today. I cannot wait to share more with you about small pearls big wisdom. As it gets closer to its release date, I will be keeping my information updated with links and the exact date and all of that stuff on my social media links and on the podcast and my website, so you can look for that and stay tuned for more to come. In the meantime, we will be back next week for September.

So with that, have an amazing week and an amazing last few days of the month. Be well, be love, be you and be magic.
