Aloha, everybody. Welcome to Your Heart Magic. This is Dr. Bethan Kapansky Wright, and we are going to be talking energy update today, talking about the new moon a little bit. I have an Oracle card reading to share, some psychological tools and perspective for working with the energy right now, and a creative prompt to round things out. And if you tune in weekly, you will notice that there was not a podcast that came out last week. I am having a really mindful May. And I spoke a while back on here that every now and then I might spontaneously take a week off. I had not planned on not making a podcast. It just kind of worked out between busyness, but also more so than that, just really feeling called inward this month and calling to attend to my own self and my own inner world and some things in my life. And I'm really feeling a call to slow down a little bit. And I want to listen to that when those things come. And so occasionally that means I might take an impromptu break that wasn't planned and take a week off or not show up in another space. I try and keep everything going that I've committed to, but I continue to keep finding a way to bring balance to my life and bring balance to this life stage. And coming off of several years of busyness and feeling really overcommitted, to be honest, with many irons in the fire all at once and many projects and things that I said yes to, I found in the middle of all that that there's just not as much room for myself, which makes sense, right? When we're busy externally in our lives, after a while, our inside life, our inner world can start to feel a little bit neglected. And so it's not like I haven't had any time for that, but I have felt that there's been more exput, output than input for a while. And so moving into May in the summer, I'm just in my personal life and personal space, slowing down, wanting to be mindful, wanting to be more present, wanting to give myself more time to receive and be and daydream and not have to schedule things out or cram something in. And allowing for a process of that is kind of where I'm at right now. You know, we're tempted sometimes to give ourselves a tiny break and then just pick up with life and the pace that we've been going. And my intention right now is to really work on doing a big evaluation and looking at all sorts of things in my life and asking how I can bring more mindfulness and more presence and go through a shift at this time. And what's fun about being able to share that is it really ties in beautifully with the energy right now. And I didn't plan it out to take a week off as an illustration to be like, this is what the Akashic is talking about right now. But I will self-reflect that within my own process, when I bring these energy updates through, I often resonate with them. Even as I share these words, I often in my own life will see where I'm paralleling some of the energy. And I think it's really cool how symbiotic all of it is and how some of these overviews apply to each of us in our own journeys and in our own ways. So dropping into the energy this week, there are seasons in life where it does feel like we are actively building something. And then there are those times where we are being asked to just stay with ourselves as things unfold. And this week really feels more like the second. The energy this week is not asking us to rush ahead. It's asking us to remain present and to witness our lives as they are unfolding and to allow the process of becoming to happen in its own timing. So no matter who you are or where you are, I guess it's probably fair to say we're all being invited to have a mindful May right now and to stay present and stay aware in our lives. This week's energy is continuing the larger Akashic theme that we've been moving through this quarter. And the theme that we've been working with is the space between what was and what will be. And the records keep showing the season as a threshold, a liminal space, and a crossing point between one way of being and another way that is still emerging. And so this week there's a quieter feeling around that threshold. There's less urgency, more witnessing, more presence. And the guidance coming through very strongly right now is simply stay with yourself, stay with your process, not with the pressure, not with the future, not with the timeline that your mind wants to impose or the idea that you have to figure it out or know what it's going to look like right now, but just staying with yourself, staying with your physicality, your body, your emotions, your process, your unfolding. And there can be a temptation during these transitional times to start to overthink, to overplan, to seek certainty, and to rush ourselves towards answers. I think there's that part of the mind that just wants to grab onto control and be able to predict what the outcome is going to be. But the records are emphasizing something different this week: that there is wisdom in allowing ourselves to remain present with what is actually here and to observe our own becoming without needing to immediately define it. Astrologically, this makes a lot of sense and it coincides with various transits that are going on right now. We have a series of transits that are simultaneously activating movement and thought while also asking us to slow down and become intentional. So there's this interesting blend happening between this very grounded Taurus energy right now and the shifting airiness of Gemini. On May 14th, we have Venus moving into Gemini, and this shifts the emotional tone towards curiosity, conversation, communication, possibility, and social connection. So we might start to notice more ideas surfacing, more conversations happening, more mental movement and reflection. But the invitation right now is not to scatter our energy. Gemini season is coming full on towards the end of the month. So we can kind of sow our seeds and flit around like social butterflies. Then for right now, the invitation is more about remaining conscious about where our attention is going and noticing what nourishes you, what drains you, what conversations deepen your connection to yourself, and which ones pull you away from your center. At the same time, on May 14th, same day this podcast is coming out, which is kind of fun since this is obviously very dialogue-y, uh, we have the sun conjuncting Mercury and Taurus. And it's a moment of heightened clarity, is what that breaks down to. So there can be some really important realizations this week around self-worth, finances, relationships, values, what we value, what truly matters to us. And sometimes insight arrives really quietly. It's not always a lightning bolt of revelation and epiphany. Sometimes it just comes as a deeper inner knowing and a realization that resonates and settles into us and says, I see things differently now. And again, the guidance here is not to rush any of this, it's to be with our process, to notice, to observe, and to allow the insight to unfold over time. We also have a really nice little conjunction happening with the sun and Mercury and Ceres. And Ceres is the cosmic mother of the zodiac. I always think of her as this very nurturing energy and embodying this really nurturing energy, like giving ourselves a big warm hug and being a good nurturer to ourselves and this invitation to self-love. And so this is a reminder to care for ourselves during the transition, during this threshold time, and to nourish our nervous systems and our creativity, our energy and our body and our spirit. So it's not a week for harshness, but a week for softness, and tending, grounding, and a witnessing of ourselves and just allowing grace for our own humanity and grace for the process. And then we have a new moon in Taurus that is happening this week on May 16th. I love a new moon for resetting and intentions and beginnings and just the invitation to go inwards and to listen to ourselves and to consider the possibilities of what might come over the next cycle. And this new moon in Taurus is reminding us that slow growth is still growth, that rootedness matters, presence matters, embodiment matters. So this new moon isn't asking you to reinvent yourselves overnight and to do every possibility that you can conceive or feel like you have to dream big and envision big and build the path here and now. It's just asking us to consider the question: what kind of life do you want to slowly grow into? What feels sustainable? What helps you feel grounded and supported? And because this new moon is happening during this larger threshold season, the energy feels less like force yourself forwards and more like plant the seed and then allow yourself to grow with it. So there's something really healing about this new moon and something very healing about the idea of allowing ourselves to become slowly, to stop treating our lives like a problem to solve and instead begin relating to our lives as a process unfolding. Our oracle card for the week that aligns with this week's energy is return to your core. And I chose this card because it just feels so on point and in keeping with the new moon energy and this Taurus energy and this idea of rootedness and allowing for ourselves to become without rushing that process. Key words to this card are grounding, presence, self-trust, inner stability, and returning to yourself. And the essence of the card is that during periods of uncertainty or transition, you are being guided inward, not toward panic, not toward urgency, and not toward forcing answers, but toward your own center. And our message for the week from the card is this card arrives as a reminder that you do not need to become disconnected from yourself while life is changing. You are allowed to slow down, you are allowed to witness your journey with compassion. You are allowed to grow gradually into what is next. Return to your values, your body, your breath, but your heart. There is wisdom in remaining present with yourself while the path unfolds. And this feels like the heartbeat of this entire week. It's not a figure it all out kind of week, but it's a stay with yourself while it unfolds kind of week. So looking at this from a mental health and psychological perspective, transition periods often activate anxiety because our nervous system prefers predictability. So, like I said earlier, the mind wants certainty answers, timelines, guarantees. I always think how the mind wants the blueprint of here's the steps you're going to take, here's the time you're going to take them in, and here's what it will look like when it gets done. But emotional growth often requires developing a greater capacity to remain present inside uncertainty. So we are really being asked to tolerate uncertainty and to find increasing tolerance for the threshold space of being between what was and what will be. So in this space, we want to learn how to practice being an observer and to practice witness consciousness. Instead of immediately reacting to every emotion or uncertainty, practice noticing, practice observing. You might ask yourself, what am I noticing right now? What is moving through me? What feels true today? And this helps us build emotional regulation and self-awareness. We also want to stay in the present moment. So when we get anxious, we get pulled into future projection, imagined outcomes, fear-based certainty seeking. And we are being asked instead to come back to our breath, our body, today's reality, and ask what is actually here right now. And then we also want to work on normalizing slow becoming. This really makes me think about this whole push towards slow living and this idea of slowing ourselves down and feels personally resonant since I was talking at the beginning of the podcast about having a mindful May and wanting to slow some things down in my life. And I think for all of us, it's an invitation right now to remember we don't have to have the entire future figured out. Healing and growth and transformation, these are all gradual processes. So this week right now supports patience, rootedness, sustainable unfolding. Be here now is kind of the mantra for this week. So our creative prompt is a little bit of a visualization and some journaling questions you can ask yourself. And very simply, right now, I just want to invite everybody to imagine that you're standing at a threshold between two landscapes, and one represents what has been, and the other represents what is slowly emerging. And if you'd like to draw this out or write about what's the landscape that represents what has been, and what's the one that is slowly emerging, this could be a really fun, intuitive exercise to kind of tap into nature themes and landscape themes and connect with your inner world, your sensory world, and see what landscapes speak to what and what comes through in your imagination. And then some journaling prompts and reflection prompts you can work with is what am I learning about myself during this transition? What helps me stay grounded in the present moment? What would it look like to trust the unfolding a little bit more deeply? Or you can simply complete this sentence. Fill in the blank with whatever wisdom comes through for you. So this week is not asking you to force the next chapter. It's just asking you to stay present enough to witness it unfolding, to remain connected to yourself while the path reveals itself and to remember that becoming is not instantaneous. It is lived, embreathed, felt, experienced one moment at a time. And I think that's really the deeper wisdom that's coming through for this threshold season, that we don't have to force ourselves into the future because life is already unfolding within us and it's unfolding through us. And each of us will get there on our individual path, whenever we're meant to get there. And we can trust that that's enough. Thank you so much for joining me on the podcast today. I will be back next week. I'm not planning on taking too many impromptu weeks off. So I will be back next week with a new energy update, a new Your Heart Magic podcast. Happy new moon to everyone. And as always, be well, be love, be you, and be magic.
